Is a college education worth a million dollars?

Summary: One of the sad aspects of modern America is our gullibility. We’ll believe the most preposterous statements if they feed our shiny prejudices. Such as educators telling us that a college education is worth a million dollars. This is the 4th in the FM site’s series about education (at the end are links to the other chapters). A BA or BS is worth a million dollars of incremental lifetime earnings! So say the educators of America. This post links to the sources of this urban legend, and a few articles providing more sophisticated analysis. But its obviously false, on several levels.
It ignore the cost of college, and the income stream that money could yield by itself with no further work. It ignores the role of race, gender, and class — big factors influencing lifetime income.
From a report by the American Enterprise Institute (see below) Contents The first three articles provide excellent analysis about the benefits of a college education. The next two are a nice summaries. The last is an interesting rebuttal.
Other valuable articles; no excerpt provided. The first is a good summary analysis; the second summarizes the debate.
Excerpts (1) “The Big Payoff: Educational Attainment and Synthetic Estimates of Work-Life Earnings ”, US Census Bureau, July 2002 — This is the primary source of the “million dollar” number. This report considers the effect of our obsessions — race and gender — but ignores factors in our blindspot of class. Excerpt:

Why are you still worried out irrelevant issues? US government is facing a 500-1500 billion shortfall as calculated by Hayman Capital. And now Japan is also joining the world with a tin cup in hand. Where are we really heading?

Let me make this simple so even an American Government can understand it...
You cannot keep buying products from overseas you can't afford it - you have to make them in the US. You lost the global trade game and it's time to become protectionist. China and India and other countries don't respect intellectual property so anything clever you do manage to do will be stolen anyway. Forget it you can't win, you lose, stop trying. And anyway even if you did start to win at something small look at what China did to Australia - RIO Tinto and BHP kicked China in the proverbial in business and Chinese government just arrested their employees and anyone who did business with them.

Actual hard facts supporting the commonly stated fact that a degree is worth $1 million are always welcome. That figure is thrown around a lot but it's pretty plain to see that a degree can help increase one's income significantly. For example, those who earn a Master's Degree in Nursing often earn near 6 figure salaries immediately afterward.

The Air Jordan 18 was released in 2003 and was the air jordans for Jordan's last season (part 3), in which Jordan played for the Washington Wizards.
Creator of the design of the Air Jordan 18 was Tate Kuerbis (Jordan Senior Footwear Designer). A person that had been part of the Jordan footwear design team since 1999 and with Nike since 1995. The Jordan Retro 18 of the design is a combination of a number of things; Sleek racing lines of the auto world, Carbon fiber-based monocoque of F1 race cars, Race car driving shoes (rubber heel wrap) and Fine Italian dress shoes (bold stitching on the soles).

The Air Jordan 3 is perfect, it was designed by Tinker Hatfield, who since then had designed every Air Jordans model up to the Air Jordans 15. The Air Jordans 3 is totally different from the Air Jordans 1 and Air Jordans 2. It didn't have the Wings logo on, it was the first Air Jordans to feature a visible air sole and the new Jumpman logo with the word "AIR" underneath it. This might be one of the most popular Air Jordans ever. The Air Jordan Shoes 3s were also famous for the humorous ads by director/actor Spike Lee. This campaign was the "Mars and Mike" ad campaign. The Air Jordan 3 was a major reason to the Air Jordans lines overall success. The Air Jordans 3 was said to be MJ's favourite shoes.

I found a good place to buy Timberland, there are all kinds of nfl jerseys and nike shox you want.puma shoes all over the world. Nike skateboarding, also we know as nike shox released many special edition shoes, are very sick and most sought after. Many of the nike sb special shoes are timberland shoes, we call them nike sb dunks. And we can see many common nike running shoes in our lifes, they are named timberland boots. You will feel very good with a pair of nike air max shoes when you are running. The nfl jerseys, one of the most successful lines of nike, has been released more than 25 years. They are still popular today.

Thank you for the sharing! You see, timberland boots is an offshoot of a family run shoe co. that thrived for three generations making cutprice footwear. Their main products are nfl jerseys. Walk five miles in a river, and your feet would continue dry in Timberland Boots. The Nike SB are on sale at our site, we ship worldwide.
